The Cinco de Mayo edition of The Roundup featured impressive individual performances around the area.
Leading the way were Tremont’s Griffin Meeker hitting for the cycle in the Turks’ win against Fisher and East Peoria’s brother-sister duo of R.J. Duncheon and Addison Duncheon being untouchable in complete game outings, combining for 27 strikeouts in key conference wins for the Raiders’ baseball and softball teams.
Washington shined on the diamond and took down fellow Mid-Illini powers in baseball and softball. Many teams also kept pace with their winning ways, such as Tremont, Eureka and Normal Community and Pekin baseball won its first conference game. El Paso-Gridley and Eureka led the way at the Heart of Illinois Conference Meet in girls track and Metamora boys tennis remained unbeaten.
