The Roundup, May 6, 2025: Mid-Illini softball, baseball fireworks and big W’s for Morton soccer, Dunlap tennis

Mid-Illini softball is always a grab bag of potential results and while the top four teams all won on Tuesday, some results were slightly different than expected at Dunlap fended off Limestone and East Peoria turned the tables on Canton.
Normal Community, Brimfield/Elmwood and Peoria Notre Dame’s softball teams all had memorable wins, Bloomington Central Catholic’s Alyssa Gibbs pitched a no-hitter and baseball featured plenty of offensive fireworks in non-conference matchups.
Two of the biggest games on Tuesday didn’t come from the diamond though as Mid-Illini powers Morton and Dunlap faced off in girls soccer and Metamora and Dunlap battled in a thrilling boys tennis match. The Illini Prairie and Sangamo conference meets led the way in track and field.
