A busy day on the diamond and on the track resulted in many notable performances on Friday, including IVC’s Keegan Schol and a pair of Normal U-High pitchers throwing a no-hitter.

Dee-Mack’s Jerry Hahn, Normal Community’s Owen Vercruysse and Richwoods’ Brendan Wright were among several other pitchers to throw gems.

Canton and Normal Community won via walk-offs in softball while Olympia picked up a big win as well. Several area girls soccer squads earned victories and Normal West’s girls team highlighted a busy day in track and field by winning the Big 12 Conference meet. Dunlap and several Twin Cities schools led the way in the first day of two two-day tennis tournaments.
