The Roundup, Nov. 18, 2025: Morton, Dunlap win in head coaching debuts, Freihaut reaches 1K rebounds

Morton and Dunlap girls basketball both had strikingly similar victories on Tuesday. Both teams won by 30-plus points, both took down Big 12 opponents and despite their respective new head coaches having plenty of experience on the sidelines, they picked up their first wins at the helm of their new squads.
Dee-Mack, IVC and Peoria Notre Dame all looked the part of area powers at their respective Thanksgiving tournaments while Fieldcrest, Limestone, Manual and Eureka were just a sampling of other Central Illinois squads who won on Tuesday.
The night wasn’t without many big performances, as Tri-Valley’s Addi Freihaut reached a big rebounding milestone, Fieldcrest’s Pru Mangan, IVC’s Kayt Miller, Bloomington Central Catholic’s Emme Hurie all had double-doubles and Morton’s Abby VanMeenen scored a career-high.
