The Roundup, Oct. 10, 2025: Olympia shocks Maroa-Forsyth, Washington, PND win key games, several golfers in state title contention

Week 7 of the high school football season is in the books with Olympia taking down Maroa-Forsyth, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, and Washington’s one-score win over Dunlap headlining Friday’s night action around Central Illinois.


Peoria Notre Dame had one of the stronger performances of the night too, putting up a big win over Bloomington. The Irish, Morton, Peoria High, Bloomington Central Catholic and several others piled on the points in big wins. Morton, PND, Normal West, Peoria High and Tri-Valley all won their fifth game to become playoff eligible.


The first day of the IHSA State Finals in boys and girls golf concluded with several area golfers and teams in contention for state titles.
