The Roundup, Oct. 2, 2026: PND comes back to win, Metamora, Normal Community, Heyworth, IVC impress
Week 7 of football saw plenty of points being put up as many games didn’t come down to the wire, but Peoria Notre Dame’s game against Bloomington was an exception.
The Irish pulled off a comeback win in the final minute to win while Metamora won a rivalry game with a dominant aerial attack and Normal Community, Heyworth and IVC all had impressive showings in non-conference games. Special teams play was a factor across multiple games as El Paso-Gridley and Morton used it to power their respective victories.
PND also won a regional in boys golf and was in action against a strong opponent in boys soccer.
