The Roundup, Sept. 15, 2026: Morton soccer beats Dunlap, Heyworth takes down Tremont in three, Washington and Pekin win in XC
Morton soccer pulled off a feat no Mid-Illini team had done since 2022 and beat Dunlap to shake up the conference race and headline Tuesday’s prep sports slate in Central Illinois.
Several other Twin Cities teams won in soccer, including Normal U-High which notched its seventh straight W. Heyworth and Limestone took down conference title contenders in volleyball while Midland and Morton stayed hot.
Jack Quinn of Normal U-High boys golf won the Intercity Tournament while Eureka defended its home turf and several Mid-Illini teams won conference matches. Also in Mid-Illini action, Washington boys and Pekin girls cross country teams headlined the conference’s Pre-Conference Meet and Dunlap’s Anna Yu reached a big milestone in girls tennis.
