The Roundup, Sept. 30, 2025: Girls golf regionals and conference matchups abound

Girls golf regionals marked the first postseason events in the fall 2025-26 season as Normal U-High, Metamora and Tri-Valley won titles and were among nine area teams to advance to sectionals. Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt, Bloomington Central Catholic’s Maddie Bradbury and Peoria Notre Dame’s Josie Heffron all medaled as well.
A big night in conference matchups on the volleyball court and soccer results yielded prosperous results for Bloomington, Bloomington Central Catholic, Metamora, Morton and Normal Community and Peoria Notre Dame, who all won in both sports. Eureka, Heyworth and Tri-Valley were key winners in small school volleyball.
El Paso-Gridley and Elmwood/Brimfield led the way in cross country with strong results at their respective races.
