Washington’s role players helping Panthers roll through first three games of postseason

GALESBURG — The focus has shifted to Washington’s impending sectional title game against Galesburg, a gargantuan matchup of the two top-ranked teams in Class 3A. 


But Tuesday’s 70-39 win for the Panthers over Ottawa in the Class 3A Galesburg Sectional semifinals gave the Panthers one dress rehearsal before the game that many in the area have been waiting all year for. 


Washington’s stars did their usual thing in the running-clock win over the Pirates. Avery Tibbs hit several threes. Dani Guedet owned the post. Becca McDougall filled up the stat sheet with assists and rebounds. Mazzy O’Brien was aggressive. 


But the game allowed the talents of Olivia Osborn and Ainsley Redlingshafer, two key role players for Washington, to be on full display.
