PEORIA — Peoria Notre Dame isn’t an average Big 12 football program.

The Irish have the smallest school enrollment of any team in the conference and subsequently, their roster list is shorter than many of their opponents. With Pat Armstrong back for his eighth year leading the team, PND’s Wing T offense is a sure bet to stay alive and well while many of their conference mates air it out.

In the same way, there’s little that’s average about this year’s Irish football team, which is led by several key players and 18 seniors returning from a squad that experienced playoff magic in 2024. Nearly reaching the state quarterfinals helped PND set its goals for the upcoming season.

“I think just being able to try to make the playoffs again like we have the past two years,” senior offensive lineman and linebacker Mitch Sager said. “Getting there is always the goal but you always want to go farther, so I think that's our goal is to make it and get farther this year.”
