They’re Up Next: Six Central Illinois girls tennis players with big potential

Clutch Sports Media’s “They’re Up Next” series highlights several Central Illinois athletes to watch in each upcoming fall sport who are juniors or younger for the 2025-26 season.


Girls tennis is just under a month from getting underway and many of Central Illinois’ returning stars and breakout candidates are gearing up for big campaigns.


Several underclassmen players in the area didn’t let their age hold them back on their way to various honors and state finals appearances. Those players, including a pair from Dunlap and two players from schools in Normal, aim to make a repeat trip this fall. Others, such as a sophomore standout from Peoria Christian, could break through and make their first state appearance too.
