The future is now in prep boys golf in Central Illinois. It could even be argued that it’s already been here.
Clutch Sports Media’s “They’re Up Next” series will highlight several Central Illinois athletes to watch in each upcoming fall sport who are juniors or younger for the 2025-26 season and look to be household names by the time their high school careers are over.
Many boys golfers who fit that criterion have already been among the top dogs since they were freshmen and now set their sights on bringing state hardware home.
With the IHSA season arriving in just over one month, here are nine boys golfers in the area who have at least two more years left to make a sizable impact:
