2025 Soccer Preview: Metamora leaning on big senior core to compete in competitive Mid-Illini

METAMORA — After four consecutive seasons of losing records for Metamora, there is optimism for the Redbirds to not only get off the schneid, but to become a real threat in the Mid-Illini in 2025.
The Redbirds return a healthy chunk of their roster from last season, including. 11 seniors to the fold. That group is led by all-Mid-Illini second teamer Jacob Crotz and a similar number of juniors are coming back as well.
The last time the Redbirds had this much upperclassmen experience coming back was during the 2019-20 season, a season where 10 seniors led Metamora to a 18-6-1 overall record and a 4-3 record in the Mid-Illini. If history says anything, Metamora soccer should be a program to look out for in 2025.
