2025 Volleyball Preview: Metamora aiming to return as the class of the Mid-Illini

METAMORA — For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Metamora volleyball team’s dynasty-like run in the Mid-Illini had shown cracks.
The Redbirds had won conference titles each year between 2020 and 2023, compiling an overall Mid-Illini record of 55-2 during that span. However in the 2024 season, Metamora claimed second place in conference play as Morton took the conference title and Limestone gained postseason glory with a run to state.
Now in 2025, Metamora feels hungrier-than-ever to take back the Mid-Illini crown.
The Redbirds graduated former first team all-Mid Illini stars Addi Pacha and Kailey Ciesielski but headlining the Redbirds will be a bevy of juniors, including second-team all-conference returner Ella Miller. She, with a smaller core of seniors led by Mia Stivers, will make Metamora dangerous yet again this season.
