2025 Soccer Preview: Zamudio takes charge of progressing East Peoria team

EAST PEORIA — Last season, the East Peoria Raiders managed to end a streak that had been running for what seemed like forever.
Over 1,000 days had passed since their last win, but the memory of that quickly faded once they picked up not just one, but three wins in 2024.
In his one season as the team’s head coach, Gabe Carreno helped a struggling program find new life. Now in a new year, Carreno has stepped aside and left the reins to his assistant coach, Diego Zamudio.
The Raiders’ momentum has continued to shift for the better. After losing only one player to graduation, the roster size has increased significantly. Both new and returning players look to expand on last year's three win season and get EP into the thick of a competitive Mid-Illini conference.
