Clutch Sports Media’s weekly boys basketball power rankings have strongly resembled a game of musical chairs. Each week, multiple teams are coming off of a big win or two and pouncing on a new spot, only to wind up ranked in a different spot the next week.
Peoria High and Peoria Christian found favorable seating locations after the Lions took down a city rival and the Chargers continued to catch fire after a pedestrian first half to the season. Normal U-High and Morton have continued to move forward without taking a step backward.
The week ahead features many non-conference games for Mid-Illini and Big 12 teams at various shootouts while the Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament revs up at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center.
Check out how the best boys basketball teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area stack up below. Teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 are part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
