HAVANA – If Dee-Mack wants to go where it thinks it can go, Friday night’s state-ranked non-conference tilt at Havana serves as a positive.

The Class 1A No.1 Chiefs trailed for two-and-a-half quarters against a pesky Class 1A RV Ducks squad, but got the second of two leads in the third quarter from an and-1 by junior Kate Schmidgall and pulled away for a 47-43 win.

“That’s a good test for our girls,” Dee-Mack head coach Joni Nightingale said about Havana. “[My girls] had to be a little bit resilient, they had to stick through and rely on each other, and it was a good win for us for sure.”
