EAST PEORIA – The end of 2025 was perfect for East Peoria boys basketball.

The Raiders won their first eight games of the season, including conference games with Limestone, Canton, Dunlap and Washington. They were alone at the top of the Mid-Illini conference.

Then, the start of January hit.

East Peoria lost their next two games in a row to Peoria High and Morton. However, both schools are great teams in their own right and both games came down to five points or less.

“We had a rough week,” East Peoria head coach Jarrett Brown said. “We really had regressed. We did not play Christmas break thinking that that would give us a reset and it did not.”

But after a short hiccup, the 14-2 Raiders have gotten right back on track, defeating Metamora, blowing out Morgan Park from Chicago at the Peoria Showtime Classic and beating IVC, Pekin, East Moline United and Rockford Boylan all handily.
