“One percent better every day.”


It’s a motto used by a multitude of athletic teams across the world as a source of culture. It’s meaning is simple: get slightly better at something everyday.


For the El Paso-Gridley Titans boys basketball team, it serves as their own motivation to lace up the shoes and get to work.


“Every day in practice we’re talking about getting one percent better,” senior guard Chancesaye Maxon said. “And getting one percent better is helping us become the team I think we can be and I know we can be.
