WASHINGTON — Washington softball can call themselves regional champs for the third time in a row after their six-inning 10-0 win against Bloomington.

Jan Smith Field was filled to the brim with fans from both sides, and the home crowd saw a fantastic display that keeps the title plaque in Washington.

One of the big reasons for that was Panthers ace Jenna Flessner, who did the near-unthinkable on Friday. The Valparaiso commit finished with a perfect game in the circle, going three up, three down in all six innings while striking out half the batters she faced.

“It feels great,” Flessner said. “Obviously, we knew their team was going to be good, so we had to keep them at a low number. So I’m very proud of our team for coming out here and just playing so strong together and I had so much confidence in [them].”
