GALESBURG — Peoria High has had to shut out plenty of noise this season.
That’s why it didn’t seem surprising that when their season was threatened by a feisty Galesburg team on Wednesday night, the Lions responded with a roar.
Kayden Turner and Nigel Moore combined for 38 points and both sank big shot upon big shot down the stretch to silence what was a rowdy John Thiel Gym in Galesburg and beat the host Silver Streaks 68-44 in the Class 3A Galesburg Regional semifinals.
“When things get loud outside of the game, we all just come together and stay focused on the game and lean on one another in a positive way,” Turner said.
