Six Central Illinois girls basketball teams with the most to look forward to next year

Girls basketball in Central Illinois proved it was stronger than ever this year. Two teams reached the IHSA State Finals, with Peoria Notre Dame winning the Class 2A state title and Illini Bluffs finishing runner-up in Class 1A.

Many other teams won regional titles, finished with 20 or more wins, and boasted standout players. More than a few teams that were successful this year look to be in good, or even better, shape next year with a plethora of freshman, sophomore, and junior talent returning.
