There’s little question as to who is the favorite in the Big 12 in baseball in 2026.

Most teams that are coming off a state run and their best year in program history have to rebuild or reload the following season, but not Normal Community. Fresh off a Class 4A third place finish, the Ironmen return over 10 seniors and boast nearly an entire lineup’s worth of players going on to play in college, including some at the Power 5 level.

Outside of Normal Community, many of the Big 12’s teams in Peoria and Bloomington/Normal have a significant amount of starters to replace, which could lead to a highly-competitive race behind the Ironmen. Normal West and Richwoods bring back some of the better players in the conference while Bloomington and PND are full of players looking to make the most of their newfound opportunities in the starting lineup.

Below is Clutch Sports Media’s spring scope-out for Big 12 baseball with primers on each Peoria and Bloomington/Normal-area team in the conference, highlighting what and who to watch out for in the 2026 season.
