The week kicked off with plenty of extra-inning thrillers on Monday as Dee-Mack, Princeville and Tri-Valley baseball, along with Pekin softball, all pulled out victories in lengthy affairs.

Dunlap won a big-time battle in Mid-Illini baseball while Metamora, Morton, Washington, Normal West and Tremont all won conference games. Princeville’s Noah Geiger threw a no-hitter as part of a doubleheader sweep for the Princes.

Normal Community softball was one of several teams to win on a walk-off and more than a handful of softball teams in the area put up big numbers at the plate in wins. A trio of area girls soccer teams including Bloomington Central Catholic won while Farmington and Elmwood/Brimfield led the way in track and Washington’s boys and girls lacrosse teams were both in action.
