A blend of conference and non-conference play in baseball softball plus several track and field meets and girls soccer games led to a busy Friday in Central Illinois.
Many Heart of Illinois Conference matchups in baseball and softball were split as Tremont and Heyworth baseball plus Tri-Valley and Eureka softball won key contests. Washington, Midwest Central and Brimfield/Elmwood were other notable winners in baseball, as were Bloomington Central Catholic, IVC and Morton in softball.
Morton won an intriguing non-conference matchup to headline the girls soccer slate. Dunlap, Metamora and Illini Bluffs won track meets on the boys side while Eureka, Dunlap, Tri-Valley and Elmwood/Brimfield did likewise in girls action.
