A historic day in central Illinois high school sports saw the Richwoods Knights girls flag football team for the first time ever at Danville. The IHSA began officially sponsoring the sport this fall.
Elsewhere, Normal West, Pekin and Bloomington Central Catholic were among a few big winners in volleyball and the boys soccer slate saw exciting wins from Normal Community and Dunlap.
Washington’s girls athletes shone in golf and tennis while Eureka and Peoria Christian boys golf prevailed on the course.
