The Roundup, Dec. 5, 2024: Conference openers lead to wins for many including Washington girls, Eureka girls plus Peoria High, Community boys

Thursday marked the start of conference play for many basketball teams around the area with state-ranked Washington girls and Peoria High boys among the group that picked up wins. 

Elmwood, El Paso-Gridley and Delavan/Midwest Central all won thrillers in girls hoops and Normal Community boys made a statement over Peoria Notre Dame in each team’s Big 12 opener.
