The Roundup, Jan. 16, 2026: Dunlap ends Metamora’s streak, Peoria High earns rivalry win

Dunlap ended Metamora’s 50-game home win streak in boys basketball with a double overtime win and Peoria High went on the road to defeat rival Richwoods to headline Friday’s boys basketball action.


Dee-Mack, Normal U-High, Midwest Central and Canton were among notable small school winners while a trio of girls basketball teams notched victories in conference play. 


Olympia, Morton and East Peoria all fared well in the first half of two-day tournaments in boys wrestling while girls wrestlers from Manual and Metamora were victorious at Mahomet-Seymour.
