A big Saturday of prep sports in Central Illinois was highlighted by Tremont boys and Tri-Valley girls taking home big pieces of midseason hardware by winning the Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament titles.
Normal U-High and Peoria Christian kept their lengthy win streaks alive while many of the area’s top large-school teams in boys hoops, plus Morton girls, fell in non-conference battles. Dee-Mack and El Paso-Gridley girls, however, ended their HOIC Tournament runs on a high note.
Washington and Normal Community won conference titles in boys wrestling while East Peoria brought home first place in the Mid-Illini girls tournament. Several area boys swim teams were in action as well.
