An action-packed Friday of high school sports in the area saw two local Class 1A athletes win indoor track and field state championships, a perfect game, a no-hitter and several big offensive performances on the diamond.

Illini Bluffs’ Audrey Dickinson and Ty Basham both won final heats at the Class 1A Illinois Top Times Meet among many other area competitors that finished strong.

Brimfield/Elmwood softball won via mercy rule by throwing a perfect game while three pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for Morton baseball. Plenty of softball teams were in action at various tournaments, including Dunlap and East Peoria. Metamora and Tremont continued hot starts in baseball and Roanoke-Benson eked out a narrow victory.
