Each day of the spring high school sports season is only getting more important and Wednesday provided no shortage of big events.

Five girls track sectionals featured sectional titles from Normal U-High and Metamora, plus state qualifiers from nearly every area school that was in action. Wednesday’s edition of The Roundup features every state qualifier in the area. Elsewhere on the track, Normal West’s boys team won its fifth straight Big 12 title.

Baseball provided a ton of great pitching performances, including no-hitters and a few two-way masterclasses. As Mid-Illini play starts to wrap up, the teams competed in both nailbiters and blowouts to finish the conference season with a bang, including doubleheader wins from Dunlap and Limestone. Illini Bluffs, IVC and Peoria Notre Dame were among several winners in non-conference softball contests.

Check out all of the scores, recaps and top performers from the day in The Roundup!
