More girls track and field athletes from Central Illinois punched their tickets to state on Thursday in sectionals as El Paso-Gridley and Tri-Valley led the way by winning sectional championships.

On the diamond, Illini Bluffs softball won a big game against a key rival, Washington, East Peoria, Dunlap and Canton softball closed out the Mid-Illini schedule with wins and Limestone and Metamora baseball grabbed non-conference wins.Morton and Peoria Christian finished the year strong in girls soccer.
