The Roundup, May 16, 2026: Softball wraps up regular season, Normal Community throws no-hitter, Tremont among several winners at HOIC showcase

Softball plus boys and girls lacrosse reached the end of the regular season on Saturday while the Heart of Illinois Conference Showcase delivered plenty of highlights on the diamond.
Tremont won the biggest HOIC baseball game of the day over Lexington while Dee-Mack, Heyworth and Tri-Valley were victorious as well. In softball, Heyworth, Tremont and Tri-Valley all won. Normal Community’s pitching impressed with a no-hitter against East Peoria while Metamora, Pekin and East Peoria softball will head into the postseason after doubleheader sweeps.
Other highlights from the day include playoff soccer, the Big 12 Conference Tournament in boys tennis, the end of the lacrosse regular season and a track meet filled with many area small schools.
