State champions were crowned and many other podium finishers stood out in the IHSA girls track and field state championships in Charleston on Saturday.
A warm Saturday saw conference co-champions crowned in both Mid-Illini baseball and softball while area small schools played for regional titles. Final tuneups were underway in non-conference matchups for big school baseball and softball that saw big offense produced from Metamora and East Peoria.
Boys tennis sectionals wrapped up with over a dozen area players moving on to state.
