An otherwise quiet Memorial Day in Central Illinois high school sports featured loud performances on the pitching side from Pekin softball and Richwoods baseball, who both won regional quarterfinal games.
Pekin’s baseball team didn’t have the same luck as their counterparts as their season came to an end, as did the five remaining area boys and girls lacrosse teams.
