The Roundup, May 5, 2026: Canton, Normal West softball turn heads with conference wins, Metamora tennis clinches Mid-Illini title

Canton and Normal West picked up wins over one of the top teams in their respective conferences to gain momentum with the playoffs approaching.
IVC and Bloomington Central Catholic baseball both won in walk-off fashion and both schools were in action at the Illini Prairie Conference Meet in track and field. Peoria Christian won the annual War on War Memorial rivalry game against Peoria Heights as well.
Morton, Washington and Pekin all won key conference games on the soccer pitch, a pair of area track and field teams competed at the Tri-County Conference Meet and Metamora took down Dunlap to secure the Mid-Illini crown in boys tennis.
