Cora Ellison hit a go-ahead grand slam late in the game to give Illini Bluffs softball a big win over Washington at the Panthers’ Swing for the Cure Tournament and Washington’s Cannon Foster threw a no-hitter to lead the way in Saturday’s prep sports highlights around Central Illinois.
Brimfield/Elmwood baseball won a big Prairieland Conference game while IVC, Morton and Princeville also had strong days on the diamond. Dunlap softball clinched at least a share of the Mid-Illini title and Morton girls soccer kept rolling with another victory. Metamora, Dunlap, Normal Community, Bloomington and Normal U-High all had several strong performers at boys tennis tournaments as well.
