The Roundup, Nov. 6, 2025: Three Twin Cities teams, two Cinderellas win volleyball sectional titles

Bloomington/Normal has long been a hub for some of the best volleyball teams in Illinois and Thursday’s sectional title games helped prove it.

Bloomington Central Catholic, Normal U-High and Normal Community all continued their 30-win seasons with sectional crowns as the Pioneers and Iron did so in three sets. Kampbell Niepagen, Laney Snow and Alana Whitfield all had huge performances for their respective teams. 

Two Peoria-area Cinderellas, Washington and Tremont, both extended their magical postseason runs with victories, both of which made a bit of history for their programs. Peoria Notre Dame, Heyworth and Morton all gave it their best shot, but fell in three sets.
