The Roundup, Oct. 11, 2025: Golf state titles, strong XC showings, volleyball and tennis tournaments headline big day

Saturday was a can’t-miss day in Central Illinois high school sports as Dunlap’s Nolan Eccles and Normal U-High won Class 2A boys golf state titles with the Pioneers narrowly beating out Washington for the team title.
Numerous other golfers had strong finishes to season, including Pekin’s Colin Kemp, Normal U-High’s Natalie Ocheltree, Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt and more.
Normal U-High won the BCC Saints Fall Classic in volleyball and Dunlap, Washington, Bloomington and PND were among the day’s winners in boys soccer.
Several cross country meets featured strong showings from Eureka, Peoria Notre Dame, Tri-Valley and Delavan while Dunlap and Normal Community won conference championships in girls tennis.
