The Roundup, Sept. 10, 2026: Normal Community flag wins first Intercity title, conference play heats up in volleyball
Thursday was a busy day in the Central Illinois high school sports world and it marked the first time a Bloomington/Normal Intercity flag football title was handed out after Normal Community downed Normal U-High.
Other highlights from the day included Metamora, Normal West, Peoria Notre Dame, El Paso-Gridley, Fieldcrest, Eureka and Dunlap winning in multiple sports, plus Morton and Limestone staying undefeated in volleyball. Illini Bluffs, Normal U-High and Normal West were a sampling of area soccer teams to win.
Peoria Christian and Richwoods boys, plus Pekin, Metamora and Dunlap girls were impressive on the golf course and Dunlap won in girls tennis and girls swimming.
