EUREKA — Getting back on the floor has never felt better for Eureka’s Mya Edwards. Her twin sister, Ivy, would say the same.

The Hornets’ high-powered duo reunited in the starting lineup to lead their squad to a 57-32 win over Rochester in the first round of the Small School Girls bracket of the State Farm Holiday Classic on Friday. It marked Mya Edwards’ first game back on the court after missing roughly half the season to date with a concussion.

“It was hard sitting there not being able to play with my team,” Mya Edwards said. “I'm glad to be back, getting better [and] getting closer to 100 percent. I'm just really happy to be back on the court.”

Mya Edwards put up 12 points in her return while her twin sister dropped in a team-high 18 in the win over the Rockets to move to 8-3 on the season. Not only were the Hornets encouraged by having their top tandem back on the floor, but they showed no signs of rust coming out of Christmas break with a fast start.
