Many of the teams in the latest CSM Girls Basketball Power Rankings are the same as they were in mid-December. But not all of them are ranked as low (or high) as they were heading into the holidays after the dust has settled on midseason tournaments.
Washington, Dunlap, Dee-Mack, Heyworth, IVC and Elmwood all won their respective tournaments and many others brought home second and third-place hardware. Each of the big three conferences in Central Illinois (Mid-Illini, Big 12, Heart of Illinois) all still have multiple contenders vying for a conference crown.
If anything can be taken away halfway through the season, its that the area’s depth of small schools is second to none. While only five were able to be ranked in CSM’s power rankings, nine others are on the radar and have the potential to elevate even more.
Check out the full rankings below, where teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 are part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
