The second week of the high school football season brings several appetizing non-conference matchups for schools across multiple conferences.
Mid-Illini squads Metamora, Pekin and Washington will all face some of the top squads in the Metro East region near St. Louis. In the Big 12, Peoria High looks to avenge a Week 1 defeat with a trip north to face a formidable foe in Lincoln Way-West. Peoria Notre Dame and Richwoods also clash in a rivalry matchup between schools separated by a few city blocks.
The Heart of Central Illinois and LincolnLand conferences each have small/large division crossover games, including a rivalry matchup between LeRoy and Tri-Valley.
Clutch Sports Media will have free, live broadcasts of PND at Richwoods and Cahokia at Metamora in our WMBD Games of the Week. Both games kick off at 7 p.m. with pregame coverage starting beforehand and can be watched at www.centralillinoisproud.com/games/ or the WMBD+ app.
Six CSM staff members have made their picks and a comment for 10 of the best games in Central Illinois this week. Broadcasters are ineligible to pick a winner for the game they are broadcasting and will pick the winner of an 11th game instead.
