As thermometers across Central Illinois have been heating up all week, so has Week 3 of the IHSA football season, which marks the start of conference play for several conferences.
Nine area squads — Metamora, Dunlap, East Peoria, Normal Community, Normal West, El Paso-Gridley, Tri-Valley, Heyworth and Bloomington Central Catholic will look to move to 3-0 and essentially secure a spot in the new-look IHSA playoffs.
Peoria Notre Dame already played its Week 3 game and beat Urbana 51-8 on Thursday night to move to 2-1.
Clutch Sports Media will be providing free, live broadcasts of three games on Friday night. Watch a pair of state-ranked matchups as Dunlap hosts Metamora and Bloomington Central Catholic hosts Tolono Unity in our WMBD Games of the Week, which can be watched on www.centralillinoisproud.com/games/ and the WMBD+ app. Additionally, Dee-Mack hosts Dwight as the Chiefs celebrate the team’s 75th anniversary with a special Throwback Night. Tune in to watch that game, presented by Guardian Caps, on clutchsportsil.com. All games will kick off at 7:30 PM with pregame coverage starting at approximately 7:15 PM.
Six of CSM’s staff members have made their picks for 10 of the top games in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area for Week 3. Our broadcasters are ineligible to pick the winners of games they are broadcasting and will pick the winner of an 11th game instead.
