Two more area girls basketball teams joined the group of regional title winners as Metamora grabbed its first plaque since 2010 and Illini Bluffs won one for the third consecutive year.
The second day of the IHSA State Finals in boys wrestling led to five area grapplers punching their ticket to Saturday’s state championship matches with many others still have opportunities to place.
Morton and Dee-Mack were among several boys hoops teams to close out their regular seasons with wins.
