The Roundup, Jan. 31 2026: BCC, East Peoria win key matchups, Haywood and Streitmatter reach 1K, plus wrestling regionals

A huge Saturday of high school sports featured big matchups at the Normal West Midwest Crossroads Shootout, Dunlap’s Keyaira Haywood and Princeville’s Sahara Streitmatter scoring their 1,000th career points and wrestlers taking the first step to state at regionals.
Bloomington Central Catholic and Normal West won close games at Normal West while East Peoria and Peoria High picked up quality wins as well. Peoria Christian, Normal U-High and Morton all extended winning streaks as well.
Washington’s win over Peoria Notre Dame headlined the girls hoops slate while Dee-Mack, Dunlap and Metamora were also key winners.
Washington, Olympia and Bloomington won regional titles in wrestling and dozens of area competitors punched their tickets to sectionals.
