State champions were crowned and many other podium finishers stood out in the IHSA girls track and field state championships in Charleston on Saturday. A warm Saturday saw conference co-champions crowned in both Mid-Illini baseball and softball while area small schools played for regional titles. Wednesday marked the first postseason events across IHSA sports with sectional meets in girls track beginning.
